Dr. SaraBess Baumrind has been practicing in Atlanta since 2007. She received her Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree from the Medical College of Georgia and completed her fellowship with the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, of which she remains an active member.
Outside of the office, Dr. SaraBess Baumrind serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor at the Dental College of Georgia and volunteers with the Ben Massell Dental Clinic. She is committed to giving back to the community and advancing her field through education and service.
Dr. Baumrind is also a proud member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, Academy of General Dentistry, American Academy of Implant Dentistry, Hinman Dental Society, and The Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Our dental practice represents a deep, intergenerational connection to the history of dentistry - and community life - in Atlanta. Though our office officially opened in 1983 under my father, Dr. Jeff Baumrind, our family's legacy in Atlanta dentistry stretches back nearly a century.
My great-uncle, Dr. Abe Sanders, trained at Atlanta Southern Dental College - formerly located at the corner of Forrest Avenue and Courtland Street in downtown Atlanta. He practiced in the heart of the city, both in his private office and at Grady Hospital, providing care with compassion and dedication. My father joined him in 1976, and the two practiced together in the historic Grant Building until 1983, when my father opened our current office.
On another side of the family, my grandfather, Dr. Jack Rosen, also studied dentistry in Atlanta before returning to South Carolina to practice. With this lineage, I am the third generation of our family to be trained in dentistry and to serve the people of Atlanta - further anchoring our roots in the city’s professional and cultural landscape.
My father, Dr. Jeff Baumrind, was a proud graduate of Grady High School, class of 1969. His love for Atlanta extended well beyond the dental chair. He played for several years on the City of Atlanta recreational softball team, participating actively in the city’s civic and recreational life. In his memory, and in continued appreciation for the community that shaped us, our practice regularly supports afterschool programs throughout Atlanta - donating to Atlanta City School bands, sports teams, and other extracurricular activities that enrich the lives of students across the city.
In 2007, I joined my father in practice and continued both the family tradition and a legacy intertwined with Atlanta’s growth. In 2021, Dr. John Simpson joined our team, bringing his own strong local connection - his father worked downtown for 30 years in the City of Atlanta Transportation Department, helping shape the infrastructure that supports our community today.
Our staff reflects this same bond with the city. Our team has seen many Atlanta school graduates including from Grady High School and from Cristo Rey Atlanta Jesuit High School. Today, our team members also live in neighborhoods throughout the city, including Midtown Atlanta, Upper West Side, College Park, Bankhead, Old Fourth Ward, Techwood, Downtown and Vine City - further strengthening our day-to-day ties with the communities we serve.
As a multigenerational, locally grounded practice, we are proud to honor Atlanta’s legacy, support its youth, and serve its residents. We’re more than a dental office - we’re part of the city’s fabric, past, present, and future.
