Implant Crowns are the final step to restoring a missing tooth. Secured onto an implant in the space of a missing tooth, an implant crown is typically made of ceramic porcelain or zirconia and is custom designed to match the color and contour of the natural teeth.
Once an implant post is placed where the missing tooth was, a healing cap is typically placed while the implant integrates fully into the bone. After the healing process is complete, we take a digital 3D impression of the implant and use our in-office lab to design and create a custom implant crown that restores the form and function of the missing tooth. After the implant crown is fabricated, the implant crown is definitively screwed or cemented on top of the implant. The implant crown now acts like a natural tooth and should be kept clean through consistent brushing and flossing.
